Role Summary:
Quantum Signal AI is looking for a highly organized and analytical Portfolio & Strategy Engineer to join our project portfolio team to enhance our decision-making processes. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing new methods, processes, and tools to improve efficiency and strategic alignment across the organization. No two projects are the same and you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to many different areas and learn new skills regularly.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communications abilities, and a proactive approach to problem solving. We seek lifelong learners who embrace project-based workloads and thrive in highly collaborative team settings. As this position requires close collaboration with our Ford colleagues, the hiring committee is comprised of Ford and QSAI staff.
Location:
This position is hybrid, with in-office days typically Tuesday-Thursday at the Research and Innovation Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

What You’ll Do:
- Implement new methods, processes, and tools to optimize our Research & Development portfolio for strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain a robust Jira structure to track the latest status of all R&D projects, ensuring consistent and accurate data. Assist R&D Directors and Managers in creating tasks and applying appropriate tags.
- Design and create custom dashboards using Jira, QlikSense, and PowerBI to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide up-to-date project status updates.
- Regularly present new methods, processes, and tools to R&D Leadership, securing alignment and buy-in for initiatives.
- Actively participate in R&D Portfolio status reviews and ensure timely completion of meeting deliverables.
- Support the planning committees for technology showcase events, maximizing the visibility of R&D projects to QSAI & Ford leadership.
- Collaborate with our technology communications team in the development and execution of R&D communication plans.
- Ensure the alignment of the R&D portfolio with other QSAI & Ford skill teams, such as strategy and product development.
- Proactively identify and implement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency within the R&D team.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in utilizing Atlassian tools (Jira, Jira Analytics), and Microsoft applications (SharePoint, Forms, Power Automate).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as QlikSense and PowerBI.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Master's Degree in a related field
